Change is often the precursor to growth, and for Tactical Application Vehicles, this sentiment holds true as we unveil our new logo.
The Heritage Logo is not going anywhere; it will be seen from time to time; as it is a part of who we are and our history as a company. When it was first designed, Walt wanted something that could be cut out of metal easily, felt industrial, and was recognizable. As the company name was developed over a pitcher of Blue Moon in the Sandia Mountains, the inlay of the land’s topography was applied to pay homage to this beginning. This was ten years ago.
As the company has grown, there have been changes, as there should be. We have refined our processes and developed more of a streamlined approach to how we build our expedition vehicles. With that, we wanted to bring something newer and fit more with the direction we are going in as a company.
With the new logo, we wanted to move to something more graphic, such as an emblem. So, with the help of our friend Ariana at Dufour Art & Designs, we came up with the new emblem logo. We stayed simple, choosing only two colors for the logo, mainly black and red, with a few alternate versions depending on the application. With red being the stand-out color, we wanted to focus on the Application part of our name because when we build the vehicle for you, the first thing we need to know is the application of the vehicle.
This brings us to the name.
Tactical Application Vehicles (T.A.V.) The name came from the word Tactic, which is defined as
Tactic: an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end.
We have a carefully planned approach to how we build vehicles. Each one cannot be a cookie cutter of the last, because each person's application is different. Where they drive, how they want to camp, if they will tow; all these things are considered when planning out a build.
#TAV SPEC
You might have noticed this hashtag, or us reference this on our product pages. But what does this mean?
While many times we refer to our stage suspension systems as TAV Spec, it really pertains to all of the gear and equipment that we use that hits the mark of our specifications. This may be one system of gear and a Stage suspension set up for one client and something completely different for another client. But every component we utilize is one that we believe to be the best on the market.
The Badge
As we move forward, we are now badging our TAV SPEC vehicles with a custom badge. If you have had a Stage 1, 2, or 3, build from us and would like to order one please give us a call at the shop.
